Are you passionate about the outdoors, conservation, and working with young people? The WILD Outside program is looking for adult volunteers aged 18+ to organize and deliver educational and conservation-based programming in Stettler, AB with support from CWF staff. Location: Stettler, AB. Volunteer from home and on-site. Time Commitment: Minimum of 2 events per month for at least 1 year, including planning, delivery, and wrap-up. Approximately 15 hours per month (shared between Volunteer Team Leaders). Volunteers have the opportunity to take on more events and hours as their availability allows. Who we are: The Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) is a national not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to ensuring an appreciation of our natural world and a lasting legacy of healthy wildlife and habitat. By spreading knowledge of human impacts on the environment, developing and delivering educational programs, conducting research, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, and advocating for effective wildlife policy and regulation, CWF strives for a future in which Canada’s wildlife is conserved for generations to come. Position overview: WILD Outside (WO) is a national year-round conservation-based leadership program for youth aged 15 to 18 that is cost-free and barrier-free. We are working to expand WILD Outside’s valuable educational and environmental programming to communities across Canada where WO does not currently operate in order to reach as many youth as possible. The program in these communities is led in-person by a team of adult Volunteer Team Leaders and Volunteer Team Assistants, with virtual training and support provided by our Remote Specialists. As a Volunteer Team Leader, you will collaborate with youth and other volunteers to plan, deliver, and engage participants in outdoor adventures and service projects in your community. More details about the program can be found on our website and social media: WildOutside.ca @wildoutside.ca Core duties: Under the support and guidance of the WILD Outside Remote Specialists, the Volunteer Team Leader will:
Plan and facilitate events, outdoor activities, and conservation service projects
Work with and coordinate other volunteers in the execution of the program
Participate in service projects and outdoor activities alongside participants and Volunteer Team Assistants
Supervise youth program participants
Assess and manage risks
Purchase and store approved program supplies (paid for by CWF)
Report and log events and incidents with your Remote Leadership Specialist
Monitor, track, and report results of the delivery of the program
Be a role model for youth and lead by example
Create a safe environment in which participants feel comfortable to be themselves

Desired qualifications:
Ability to commit to 1 year of volunteering and delivery of 2 events per month for a
minimum of 2 hours each. Events are typically on evenings and weekends, with program planning being completed outside this time.
Standard First Aid with CPR or higher, or willingness to complete at own expense
Reliable transportation to and from event sites
Ability to maintain reliable and regular electronic communication with Remote Specialists and program participants
Good judgement, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills
Access to a computer and internet
Experience facilitating youth programs or outdoor programming is considered a strong asset
Ability to communicate in English is required, knowledge of any other language is an asset
Screening process: All volunteers must successfully complete the following process:

Completion of volunteer paperwork
Reference checks
Vulnerable Sector Check (reimbursed by CWF)
