Where can I recycle...
Computers and other electronics?
Items in working condition can be taken to Superfluity or the IODE Rummage Sale (at one of their drop off days - Check out their Facebook page for more information)
Non-working items can be taken to the County Transfer Stations electronics areas
Remove batteries from items before recycling. Batteries can be recycled separately!
Removing the computer’s hard drive is the safest option if you are concerned about access to personal information.
Donating items to a local charity not only moves the item to someone who might get use out of it, but it also keeps it out of the landfill and circulates funds within the community.
The list of electronics that can be recycled is enormous, with more added all the time. Visit the Alberta Recycling Management Authority’s full recycle list.
Recyclable item categories include:
Telecom (Phones, fax machines, answering machines, etc.)
Games (Electronic Toys, Musical instruments, game consoles, etc.)
Small Appliances (Fans, Clocks, vacuum cleaners, etc.)
Lawn and Garden (Electric or battery operated)
Solar Panels
Audio Visual (TVs, Monitors etc.)
Power Tools (Drills, Saws etc.)
