Stettler's Film Circuit is back with this 2021 Oscar-winning film: Nomadland.
Starring Francis McDormand in the role for which she won her third Academy Award.
McDormand plays a van-dwelling working nomad who leaves her hometown after her husband dies and the sole industry closes down, to be “houseless” and travel around the United States. Based on the 2017 nonfiction book “Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century” by Jessica Bruder, the film was written, produced, directed, and edited by Chloé Zhao, who won the Best Director Oscar for this film. The film also won the Best Picture Academy Award at the 2021 Oscars.
8 movie passes are $70; 4 movie passes are $35 and can be purchased at the Stettler Public Library. Tickets can also be purchased at the Jewel Theatre the night of the movie for $10 each.
