The Stettler Waste Management Authority has recently partnered with Styro-Go (Calgary) to handle our Styrofoam recycling.
The company is now Canada’s largest styrofoam recycling handler.

On-Site Compacting approach:
Styro-Go’s trucks are custom made self-contained recycling units with onboard crushers. Each 5-ton truck can process and carry as much as five full size (53-foot) transport trailers of material. Styrofoam is put into their truck and the on-board machine crushes and densifies it. The outflow is bricks about one cubic foot in size, each weighing about 60 lbs.

Accepted is large white, rigid #6 packing Styrofoam (polystyrene EPS)
No food or drink containers.
No Styrofoam peanuts.
Must be clean of dirt, tape, staples, labels, etc.

What happens to the Styrofoam?
The Styrofoam bricks are shipped to a manufacturer; some are made into plastic wood materials, like picture frames and park benches.
