"When Stettler gets behind something, they do it right," says James Nibourg.
Nibourg, who emceed the My Favorite Christmas variety show on December 23, says one of his favourite aspects of the event is seeing the community rally to support a charity.
The concert was held at the Stettler Performing Arts Centre, with an afternoon and an evening show.
An exciting array of home-grown talent, of all different ages, presented a festive and uplifting experience.
Acts at the Saturday afternoon concert included vocal duets, piano solos, dance routines, and puppets with "dad" jokes.
The audience responded warmly to all performances. It was evident the performers had worked hard to ensure the event was a memorable one.
Music included stirring a capella harmonies, heartwarming Christmas carols, and a delightful Italian folk song. When the Electric Sliders performed a line dance to "Feliz Navidad", it seemed the audience was ready to start dancing, too.
Nibourg joked about how he landed the hosting gig. "They couldn't find anyone else to do it," he said, "so they asked me."
This was the second annual fundraising concert for the Stettler Hospice Society, a non-profit society that provides a hospice suite for end-of-lIfe comfort, at no cost to the patient or family.
