Many vendors who regularly attend the Stettler Farmers market have moved into the Stettler Mall for the fall and winter seasons. Organizer Kelly Armstrong says that the Mall Manager has been very helpful and great to work with in setting up the layout for the small vendor booths. The area they are using is clean and brightly lit, with tape markers for the booth layout, and includes one-way traffic flow to help with social distancing. Masks are a requirement to enter the mall.
The Oct 23rd market was the first one held and was attended by numerous local vendors. The products covered a wide range, including handmade signs, bags, foot products, baking, Tupperware, Avon, Watkins, comic books, Moji, clothing, and more.
The turnout for the market was better than anticipated due to the rainy weather. Still, advertising coordinator Sherry Marshall said they expect even more visitors as it gets closer to Christmas and people start thinking about shopping for gifts.
Kelly says there is a lot of room to expand the market, and they are actively looking for new vendors. Booths cost $20 per market, including having your business name added to any advertising that the group puts out on social media and StettlerLocal.com.
Future markets will be held every second Saturday leading up to Christmas, the next being November 6.
