Shortly after 4 pm on Sunday, March 15th, 2020, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Stettler Regional Fire & Rescue attended a call regarding an unresponsive individual with a medical history of diabetes, located in East Stettler.
After first responders performed the necessary initial on scene care, the patient was transported via ambulance to the Stettler Hospital And Care Centre, where a request for STARS Air Ambulance to pick up the patient for emergency airlift was placed.
STARS arrived at approximately 5:30 pm, landing on the helipad located near the hospital, where it remained in wait while the onboard Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) readied the patient for transport inside the Emergency Room.
STARS once again took to the sky a short while before 7 pm, heading north and destined for Edmonton.
