Our county is very active in 4-H, with local clubs participating in many activities at all levels of 4-H, from local to international. 4-H offers members the chance to meet and interact with their peers from across the district, region, province, country, and world. Members from Stettler clubs have even travelled as far as Tokyo, Japan, on 4-H exchanges.
4-H strives to build better citizens for our communities by encouraging personal growth in project activities, communications, and community service. Members must be nine years of age or older as of Jan 1, 2022, to join a 4-H, although some clubs choose to offer programming for Cleaver members aged 6-9.
Stettler district has been home to multiple 4-H Alberta Hall of Fame leadership award recipients, who have helped shape the program into what it is today. These leaders have helped shape the current leadership running the local clubs and many existing programs offered.
There are eight active clubs in Stettler District:
4 Beef clubs located in Byemoor, Botha, Big Valley, and Erskine
3 Horse clubs located in Stettler, Big Valley, and Tees
1 Multi-Club (offering multiple unrelated projects) located in Stettler
This month they will all be hosting their reorganizational meetings and getting their club year underway.
The 4-H Season runs from October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022.
