"There is never a dull moment in Stettler," says Leann Graham, as she lists the amenities, clubs, and events that make this town interesting.

Graham, the incoming Chief Administrative Office (CAO) of the Town of Stettler, is currently the Town's Director of Planning and Development.

According to the Town's media release, Graham has been employed with the Town for 15 years. She's certified in Applied Land Use and Planning, has earned the National Advanced Certificate for Local Authority Administrators, and holds a professional designation as a Certified Local Government Manager.

Graham brings a lot of enthusiasm to her new role as CAO. "I am looking forward to working with the incredible team we have at the Town of Stettler," she says, "to continue to provide a high level of service while finding solutions to daily issues we face."

She seems realistic about the challenges she may face in her new role.

"There are always going to be challenges in municipal government," she says, "whether it be available grant funding, community and stakeholder partnerships, finding a balance within the budget to have fair and equitable taxation or ensuring positive growth through development, or business retention and attraction."

But Graham believes there are solutions to every problem, and she's ready to tackle issues head-on. "That is the challenge I look forward to the most," she says.

As a lifelong Stettler resident, Graham she says she has a deep appreciation for the town and the people who call it home.

"I love Stettler’s feeling of community, and this is an experience that I hope everyone takes advantage of," she says. "From the warm and welcoming feel you get at any event, to the pride our residents take in beautifying and improving their community – it’s truly one of a kind."

Graham's new position takes effect August 30, as she replaces the retiring Greg Switenky.
