There were a lot of laughs during the first evening of Heartland Arts Troupe Society (HATS) auditions.
The community theatre group is gearing up for a dinner theatre production to run November 8-11 at the Stettler Community Hall.
At the audition tonight, director Andrea Muhlbach welcomed local actors, and gave a brief synopsis of the upcoming comedy which takes place in Georgia.
Actors then performed "cold" readings of the script, complete with Southern accents. Considering most of the performers hadn't seen the script beforehand, their comedic timing was impressive. Some of the actors seemed so natural in the role, you could almost picture them on stage.
If you'd like to try out for the production, a second round of auditions will be held at the Stettler Elementary School tomorrow, June 7, at 7:00 pm. The troupe is casting actors, as well as behind-the-scenes volunteers.
