Halloween Week is upon us! It’s great to see residents decorating for Halloween. I’ve seen quite a few houses getting ready for the scariest day of the year while out on my walks. Let’s hope the beautiful weather holds for the kids that day!

Happy birthday wishes to go out to Ed Buchmeier, who celebrated his 92nd birthday this past weekend!

The Erskine School raised just under $4000 with their Apple Sales in September! Thank you to everyone who purchased apples to support this fundraiser! Everyone I’ve talked to said their apples were delicious.

The next Erskine Knitting club meeting will be held on November 4th at the Waverly Club Rooms at 7 pm. All stitchers – knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching – are welcome to attend! For more information contact Pat at 403-742-0604.

Another reminder that The Erskine Kickoff to Christmas Market will be held at the Erskine IOOF Hall on November 6th from 10:00-4:00 pm. Lots of great vendors will be there including Dahling Knits and Threads, Simpally Rustic, Tish's Towels, Pink Moon Designs, Sweet Ivy Jae's Closet, Thirty-one Gifts, Norwex, Epicure, Scentsy, MojiLife, Kelly's Closet, Pretty Little Industry Candles, Cloud 9 Naturally, Tupperware, Savannah's Sweets, Usborne Books, Cindy's Jams & Jellies. A great way to get ready for Christmas and support small businesses is by shopping local!

Did you know Erskine has a Little Free Library on 5th Street West? Why not go for a walk and stop by to check it out?

The Erskine Curling Club is going to get started early in November. For details, you can contact Daylon Rairdan or Kent MacKenzie at (403)740-2657.

The Seniors Center continues to host games each week. Cribbage on Wednesdays from 1:30-4:00; Games Night on Thursday at 7 pm; and Canasta on Fridays from 1:30-4:00. If you want more information, you can contact Edith or Gord at 403-742-5207.

Just a reminder, the Erskine Waste Transfer Site is open Wednesdays 1:30 pm-6 pm; Saturdays from 9 am-2 pm; Sundays from 1 pm-6 pm.
