The County of Stettler has a unique, full-time career opportunity for a Signs Lead who will bring the right mix of attitude and practical skills to this engaging and independent position.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to complete tasks safely and independently with a keen attention to detail. The Signs Lead must be able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks at varying stages while being adaptable to changing situations as they develop.
Duties will include:
Picker truck operation (training will be provided);
Operating other equipment as needed (Skid Steer, Forklift, etc.);
Operating hand and power tools;
Coordinating utility locates with Alberta One-Call for sign posts or other projects;
Conducting hazard assessments and pre-trip walk around inspections as required;
Assisting with building and bridge maintenance projects as needed;
An ideal candidate would possess the following skills:
Ability to stay effective and motivated while working independently;
Mechanically inclined (past experience with farm, industrial, or municipal settings);
Familiarity with computer and smartphone basics;
Past experience with trades (carpentry, concrete, painting) would be an asset;
Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operators License (drivers abstract will be required);
