Helping Hands-Red Deer is currently URGENTLY looking for candidates to fill part-time and casual roles within our Stettler location. Our operations are guided by four core principles: compassion, care, wisdom, and warmth.

Helping Hands-Red Deer, a community-based organization deeply embedded in our local community, is on the hunt for a dedicated Community Support Worker.


Since our founding in 1999, we have grown to extend our services to Red Deer in 2010, and transitioned to new ownership in 2023. Our team, made up of local community residents, has been consistently serving our valued older adult community members for many years.


Responsibilities:

As a Community Service Provider your duties will include:

  1. Providing light housekeeping services to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our older adults' living spaces.

  2. Offering companionship to our older adults, engaging them in meaningful conversations and activities.

  3. Providing transportation services to meet our older adults' mobility needs.

  4. Accompanying older adults to appointments, ensuring they are adequately supported during these visits.

  5. Preparing meals with emphasis on nutritional value and the preferences of our older adults.

  6. Supporting older adults in both facility and home environments, offering assistance as needed.

  7. Upholding the four core principles of Helping Hands-Red Deer: compassion, care, wisdom, and warmth.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Community Service Provider position should have:

  1. A genuine interest and passion for working with older adults.

  2. A minimum of two years experience providing personal care with older adults.

  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  4. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  5. A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and care.

  6. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  7. Flexibility to work various shifts.

  8. A clear criminal record and a vulnerable sector check no more than 6 months old.


Compensation:

We pay a competitive wage as well as compensated mileage for each shift.
