Alberta Prairie Railway hoping to open in Phase 3

Many people from Alberta and Canada come to experience the unique adventures of riding a vintage passenger train from the 1920s. However, the train is currently without passengers due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Like many other tourist attractions, Alberta Prairie Railway Excursions is uncertain about when they will be able to open back up and what restrictions they will have to follow. Currently they do not have a date that they will be able to reopen but phase three is a possibility. The train is like a music festival or a sports event; it is crowded and full of people making it hard to social distance, therefore they will have to follow the same restrictions that major events will have to follow.

During the time that Alberta Prairie Railway Excursions has been closed, they were able to keep people employed using the time to renovate and repair what was needed. They were also able to take advantage of the government's aid during this time to help them out and help keep people working.

"We would love to open, but we can't, our main priority is keeping our staff safe as well as our community, and province safe." - Bob Willis

Sadly, they are also unsure about the Polar Express. The Polar Express helps out the community and is a yearly tradition for many families. The Christmas train excursion is something that they really want to be able to do, but safety is the top priority.
