The County of Stettler is looking for a proactive and highly organized Administrative Assistant to join the Operations Department.


The Administrative Assistant will handle a variety of tasks, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of our services to the public. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive insight into municipal government operations across all departments. 


 Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks including managing records, handling financial processes, and supporting operational projects.

  • Facilitate effective communication within the organization and with the public.

  • Support colleagues in a collaborative environment that values respect and a positive workplace.

  • Provide support in the preparation of meetings, agenda packages, documents and minutes. 

  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure streamlined operations.

  • Manage and update databases for accurate record-keeping and timely access to information.

  • Proactively solve problems and adapt to changing priorities to improve departmental processes.

  • Active participation in health and safety management system. 

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in office administration or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic accounting principles.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

  • Ability to lift minimum 23 kilograms (50 lbs)

 

This position is 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. A Drivers Abstract and a criminal records check is required upon hiring.
